Kudos to the sisters, apart from their good music their concerts are also very informative. For instance they mentioned that the famous Chittasvaram for the krithi Sobillu in Jaganmohini was composed by the popular Karaikkudi Vainika brothers. They also mentioned that Kurai ondrum illai though composed by Rajaji was set to tune by Kadayanallur Venkataraman.
Their rendition of the Ragas Hindolum and Kalyani need special mention. The trade - offs between the sisters towards the end of `Samaja' was scintillating and had a flavour of Hindustani style while Kalyani was very classical.
Came to known that the Ghanjira artiste Rajaganesh who played for Lalitha - Nandini is a grandson of the legendary Alathoor Brothers.
