First Things First. It was scheduled as Sudha Raghunathan's concert for Maximum Meida's TamilIsai Vizha.Since Sudha had a bad throat,Nisha stepped in as replacement at the 11th hour.(It was announced so).

Sudha was conferred Tamil Isai Vani by Maximum Media. After the felicitation and Speeches were over,they said it was time for concert and the screen went down.When the screen went up,everybody was shocked rather.It was Nisha who was sitting in the centerstage and Sudha holding a mike and announcing it will be Nisha's show.It was Nisha's show indeed. The auditorium was housefull expecting Sudha.The crowd got disappointed and many started to leave. Those who left infact missed a good concert by a singer who s gonna rule the roost sooner. I consider to be a part of next set of triumvirate.MSS-DKP-MLV -past generation; SR- AS-NM -present and Nisha - Sriranjani -future.

It was a craker of a concert with Nisha in full form. Kudos for Nisha for bravingly stepping into a veteren's shoe. Considering that it was an admission free concert covered by Television media and a sunday crowd for Sudha,it was really a brave decision from Nisha's side to accept the concert at 4pm for a 7pm start.

We should laud Sudha and Shubashree for reposing faith in an upcoming youngster. The concert was for an 1hour and half and had only Tamil compositions.

Nisha started with Andal's 2nd stanza. It was rendered well. Parathpara Parameswara in Vachaspati was sung next. She sang good round of swaras at the end. Sabapathiku veru deivam was preceeded by a very good alapanai in Aboghi. It was here she came to full form.She was a treat to hear when she reached upper registers.
Ni ernaga yenil was sung in a brisk manner.Keeravani was taken as the main and a detailed raga sketch was given beyond doubt.the violin returns were good. Thooran's song on Kanchi Mahaperiyava,Punniyam oru kodi was sung. She started epadi padinaro with anupallavi appararum sundararum.It received applause from the rasikas. Viruttam on Murugan was followed by Kaliyuga varadan and before anyone could realise Shubashree announced that the concert was over.

It was a short and sweat concert and audience gave a standing ovation for bravado Nisha.
Everything is fine with Nisha except this. At times when she reaches upper notes,it produces some jarring effect and Shrill factor akin to Nithyasree.
And today Anatha krishnan's bowing was drowned by Nisha's voice.Just we can see his hands moving.Nisha's concert will be even more successful if she takes care of these aspects.

My parents in chennai attended this concert right from the start till the end and they were all praises for Nisha Rajagopal. Time to give the next rung of young and upcoming musicians more opportunities.
