The genius was just in a cool glimmer. The kharaharapriya was absolutely polished...swarnangi glittered. The sangathis in every raga he played were just so peach perfect, catchy and extremely selective...he created such a raga breeze last evening...Mandolin Srinivas is just too cool. Loved watching him.

Was it Vatapi ganapatim (Hamsadhwani) or Mahaganapatim (Nattai)? Was the RTP in Suvarnangi, the melakarta? Or is there a different raga called Swarnangi?

The piece is called Mahaganapatim in Hamsadwani. U. Srinivas Mama himself confirmed. As far as the RTP, it was in (Melkarta )Suvarnangi. First time I've heard this. Sorry for the spelling.

Yes the concert was absolute delight to listen .. The second krithi was Mahaganapathe - Hamsadhwani composed by Sri. Maha vaidhyanatha Iyer. Listening to Swarnangi for the first time. Very nicely rendered. It had touches of Shuba panthuvarali ..Any idea ?

S.Rajam used to sing detailed AlApanas of rAgas like suvarNAngi. I remember an RTP in this rAga by him from aeons ago.
