1. kalyani ata tala varnam.
2. Vaatapi ganapathim - Hamsadvani - adhi - Muthuswami Dikshitar with "superfast electrifying" swarams.

6. Renukaa devi - kannada bangala - Kanda chapu - Muthuswami Dikshithar.
7. Maanamu leda - Hamir kalyani - adhi (2) - Thyagaraja with Ragam, Swarams and Thani avarthanam.
8. Srinivaasa thiruvenkata - Hamsaanandi - Adhi - Paapanasam Sivan.
9. Mannu pugazh - Ragamalika with Durga, Lalitha, Saaranga, Hindolam and Neelambari - ( kulashekar alwar) - Adhi.
10. Erumayil - Ragamalika with Bagesri, Hamsanandi, Begada and Surutti - Adhi ( kanda nadai ) - Arunagirinaathar.
11. Mangalam - Sourashtram - adhi - Thyagaraja.

There was mannupugazh today as well for moi :) He seemed to relish every single word in the 5 pasurams and the applause from the audience was on for several minutes after this.
Hameer kalyani raaga alapana was the next highlight of the concert. And swarams here too were splendid. BMK's voice seemed crisp and clear, with a great mike set-up and overall could see the audience very satisfied with frequent applauses! Worth the long drive to Nanganallur amidst lots of mosquitoes who have gotten immune to all bug sprays and lotions..

Usha - I would have loved to hear the hamIr kalyANi piece, AlApana and all!

And just FYI (and with no intention to hijack this thread), the WHO is releasing mosquitoes that have een engineered to be similar to their wild-type conterparts, except that they are reproductively inefficient...it is anticipated that in about ~5 years, mosquitoes as we know them may become one with the dodo....

Cant agree more and I read this article below in dinamani which portrays my thoughts exactly that a few sabhas had given either a mini-hall or different slot than he should truly deserve.. Dunno how these sabhas and slots work, but this article did make me think.. Wish the scenario in Carnatic Music was similar or atleast close to other Professional jobs where most things are purely by merit..

Our community in the US (similar to several other communities in the US, am sure) does spend a lot of $$$ towards this beautiful art by funding several musical events out of pocket and when we see that several artistes (I could see that KBMK is not the only one) are not recognized as they should be, it does put a damper on our efforts and I wonder if there is an easy way out or if we should just let things happen!!

A good performer. He has got what he is due. Still needs a lot more time to mature into a much sought after artist.
