Highly satisfying kucheri ! The volume levels at Narada Gana Sabha was optimun and the concert sounded very pleasing to the ears. Shashikiran's Lalitha Ragam drew a huge applause. The ease with which he traverses through the lower octave is something fabulous ! So was Ganesh's Kannada alapana. Very impressive ! Before Ramachandruditagu, Shashikiran asked the audience if they wanted a kriti or a pallavi as the main item. The audience responded with "pallavi". So the brothers came up with one in Kannada... M.A.Sundaresan's Kannada raga essay was absolutely appealing. For the tanam, Shashikran again asked the audience for the raga choices.... Thus came up Sindu Bairavi, Kalyana Vasantam, Behag, Bilahari, Hamsanandi. Ganesh sang these and repeated them in reverse. Srimushnam Raja Rao appreciated the brothers for such a bold attempt and blessed them. Shashikiran said that they would do the speed variations a little different in the pallavi to make it innovative. The brothers also sang ragamalika swarams with Kannadagaoulai, goulai and back to kannada. Following the pallavi there was a crisp thani by Raja Rao sir and KVG. Shashikiran announced that the songs were requests from one of the audience and sang tharaka bindige and Bho Shambho. Maithreem Bhajatha was touching ! The Concert ended with the Purandara dasa mangalam.
