Nagai Sriram is going to be really busy with two days of back-to-back concerts!

I see that he is busier than ever now. Years ago, I heard him play so well in an afternoon concert, and have wondered over the years why I had not seen him play that much. Looks as though his time has come. I also see that he smiles! A very serious look he had, then!

I attended the first day and listened to the compositions of Smt.KalyANi krishnasamy by chinmayA sisters and NSG.Smt.Kk's compositions sre by and latge influenzed by BharatiAr and 'chollaDi sivasakthi'was Leitmotif in her poems.

ChinmayA sisters sang the following songs and the renditions were v.g.accompanied by kum.M.R.GopinAth and kalliDai sivakumAr.

main in kalyAni - devituNai - rUpakam
cholla cholla inikkudhamma - rAgamAlikai in nAdhanAmakriya,chenchurutii,etc.
the above songs by smt.KK.
They also sang
pArthasArathy - sumanEsa ranjani by Smt.RukmiNi ramaNi
hamir kalyANi thillAnA by TNS.

NSG sang 2 of his own compositions in hamsadhwani and malayamArudham apart from three compositions of Smt.KK and a thillAna in niroshtA by TNS.

NSG's AlApanais of all the above rAgams were quite enjoyable.MAS gave suiting replies.NyevEli venkatesh played very supportively.

Carnatica had arranged in a nice way and the audience were treated with snacks and tea in between the 2 concerts.

There is a contemporary composer by name kalyAni Krishnaswamy, is there another composer too, or did you make a mistake in getting the last name wrong(you can reedit and correct the post).

Yes.It is KalyAni krishnasamy and corrected in the main post.

I was late by an hour for ChinmayA sisters' concert, hence the list is an incomplete one for their concert.

The S'bharaNam kriti sung by NSG was in misra - jampai, the only other kriti in S'bharaNam that I know in this tALam is 'Sri dhakshinAmurthE ' of MD.
