The Maharajapuram Santhanam Foundation will be presenting the Annual Memorial award to Mandolin U.Shrinivas at a function on 27.10.2012 (Time: 4.30 PM) at P.OBUL REDDY HALL, Vani Mahal, Chennai 17. This award carries a Cash Award of Rs.1 Lac, GOLD MEDAL, CITATION AND A MEMENTO.

The "MERITORIUS AWARDS For Achievements” carrying a Cash Award of Rs 5000/-, CITATION AND A MEMENTO. go to Vasuda Kesav , S.Srinivasan and
R.Ramesh (All Awards instituted by Sri Vijayakumar Reddy and Smt.Preetha Reddy in memory of Late Sri P.Obul Reddy and Smt. P. Gnanambal) .

Mandolin U Srinivas is getting an award may be after a long gap? Also R Ramesh an accomplished mridangam player (disciple of Guru Karaikudi Mani) has not got due recognition he deserves. Good to know that other talented musicians- Vasuda Kesav who is a good vocalist with sound patantaram and Vainika Srinivasan who is known for purity have been awarded.
Let this good work be continued for years to come

Kudos to the organizers for their punctuality in conducting the function. In spite of having a few speakers, the function wound by by 5.45 giving enough time for a full length concert.

Unfortunately the concert lasted barely an hour and a half with the mrudangist absent for the first half hour leaving the audience quite disappointed.
