"Panchali's Pledge," English translation of Subramania Bharati's "Panchali Sabadham" by Smt Usha Rajagopalan, is to be released (on 10th Dec.) during the three day long Bharati festival and also on 12th Dec. at 6 p.m., at the British Council, Chennai. Bharati had written and published the first of this two part minor epic in 1912 while living in Pondicherry to escape British persecution.
The occasion being a celebration of the Mahakavi, along with reading excerpts from "Panchali's Pledge," there will also be a reading a few poems from the recently released "Selected Poems of Subramania Bharati" by the author. Smt Bindhumalini will be singing the verses in Tamil.
