An intensive summer workshop was conducted by Carnatica brothers for the academy of musical excellence at London. During this intensive workshop,the students learnt 16 compositions and will be presenting them as a junior and senior Choir.Also, Over 100 students will be presenting the UK's first ever Carnatic Music Symphony conceptualised by Shri K.N.Shashikiran, tomorrow 3rd Aug, 5pm,at

The best to the children 
We saw Shashikiran, the live wire music organizer live (!) during the Cleveland Festival, displaying his organizing skills which he has been honing all these years. He is a man of many vibrant ideas, no doubt.
Wishing him more accolades, and wishing him and Dr. Ganesh a very good concert.

The programme went very well. It started off with the Carnatic music symphony performed by over 100 Students. The set of same songs premiered in Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana.This was very well conducted by K.N.Shashikiran and P.Ganesh and the music teacher Ms.Yasodha Mithradas from the academy of Musical excellence.
This was followed by the Jr.Choir and they sang the songs that they learnt during the workshop. The song list consists of

Veda Vinayaka Charnam - Bhajan
Jalanthara – Ragam Valaji composed by Muthiah Bagavathar
Sadhananda thandavam – Ragam Bahudaari,composed by Achudaasar
Iravu pagal palakalam – Thirupukazh
Kalai Magale – Geetham, composed by Ravikiran
Hari Narayana – Ragam revathi,composed by Purandaradasar
Guruvara banthamma on Ragavendra swami
The Sr.Choir sang
Jaya jaya in Nattai
Sevikka vendum ayya
Manasa yatulo with neraval swarams
Kaligi unte gadha
Varuvaro varam tharuvaro in sama
Garuda gamana in hindolam
Parullana matta javali in kapi
Purvikalyani thillana composed by K.N.Shashikiran
All these songs were learnt during a week workshop. The academy of musical excellence is run by Srilankan community and the kids are not exposed to the languages like Telugu and Kannada (where most of the compositions are). Some of the compositions are very difficult, but they rendered it perfectly. The training they received from Carnatica brothers was absolutely brilliant and kudos to the music teacher Ms.Yasodha Mithradas.This is the third time, Carnatica brothers are doing a workshop for Academy of musical excellence based in London.
This was followed by the concert of Carnatica brothers.They sang
Jaya jaya manirangu with swarams
Varam tharuvay bhoopalam
Naravadhi sukadha ravichandrika
Sonnal podadha karna ranjini
Rama Rama chandrajyoti
Kurai ondrum
As usual, it was a brilliant concert by them and they made the audience totally engrossed.
This was followed by the Jr.Choir and they sang the songs that they learnt during the workshop. The song list consists of
