Vamshidhar’s music was simple, straight, traditional and at the same time there was subtle aesthetics & style . In spite of a good command over the instrument not at once he tried to be over exuberant. There was total restraint in his approach which is laudable considering his age. His music displayed the same maturity and humbleness that you see in his external appearance. Happy that he is treading the path of legends like LGJ & NRK. .

His AlApanai of the rAgams listed were proof of his sound training, discipline and which were rich in manOdharmam. His jAruss, brighas and gamakams were all enjoyable and very melodic. The only shortcoming if at all was the lack of neraval. Is neraval banned in flute concerts ?.One expected rAgamAlikA in either tAnam or pallavi.

NagAraj didn’t limit himself to be a mere accomopanist. His replies were individualistic and yet he didn’t give you the feeling of crossing the line by over looking. He remained individual yet humble. As discerning rasikAs you know how difficult it is to make both ends meet. His playing was melodic too.

The percussionists did a fantastic job in supporting and lifting the concert.Kanjira was given equal share throughout. That way J.R was very generous in sharing the stage with GP.

An excellent concert by a team of good artists. Let more such concerts happen all over.

Vamshidhar is flute Desikachar's grandson. Flute Desikachar is veena Doreswami iyengar's brother. Vamshidhar is student of d.balakrishna, son of veena Doreswami iyengar. He is from Mysore. Balakrishna and vamshidhar also give veena Venu concerts regularly.

Very talented flautist. He has the skill of Desikachar, and the poise and methodical presentation of Doreswami Ayyangar.
