RTP In Malayamarutham It was an elaborate essay of Malayamarutham to a level I had experienced one of Tanjore Kalyanaraman.To me ,she was trying to demonstrate the Raga with clarity (no one can mistake it for a remote Valaji).Ragas handled include Sama ,Chandrakauns &Vasantha .The reverse order of Swaras in these Ragas followed to conclude the Pallavi..She sang a sloka "Shanku chakra Gadapane"Starting with Nalinakanthi she sang it in Bagheshri an emotive"Govindamiga" Narayana Theerthrar tarangam esp.,the melting caranam"sangItarasa rasika sarasa sallApam saraLa muuraLI gaLita sAdhusantApam
shrngAra rasapUra shrI madanagOpam shrtajanAnandam akhilAnanda rUpam" .Pakkavadyams were very supportive with anticipation esp., in Surati piece.Ganesh Prasad excelled in Malayamarutham&Sama.The concert was well attended with gentle breeze wafting across the auditorium (Malayamarutham!)Nirainadi mukam enum Tirupugagz in Hamsanandi was the last no .before Mangalam.Heard her concerts in the neighbourhood to follow one in Asthiga Samajam,Tiruvanmiyur &Nayagi-Kotturpuram.

There was an elaborate Sriranjani Alapana and we got to hear a gem of a composition by Muthuswamy Dikshitar . I have not heard this composition much earlier - it is beautiful , especially the madhyama sahityam lines.

Energetic Shanmukhapriya , with swift set of kalpana swarams . Very nice alapana emphasizing on the beauty of the raga with a few sangatis sung with sans the SA ( SA Varjyam). Lovely lyrics in the Malayamarutham Pallavi - the raga , rendition and the lyrics almost so beautifully merged into the evening and mood of the concert

Concert made complete with the support from all the three accompanists - really enjoyed Shertalai . Sri. Ananthakrishnan's playing - his playing during the Shanmukhapriya kriti enhanced the rendition and the beauty of the sangatis.
