I just saw this announcement from Kalakendra:
viRALimalai kuRavanji
Dr. Padma Subramaniam (as the kuRatti)
Smt. Priyadarshini Govind
Ms. Shobhana
Sri Vineeth
and students of Nrityodaya (Dr. Padma's school)
July 13th, 6:45 pm
Narada Gana Sabha
I hope that:
1) someone who attends writes a review, and
2) the event is recorded (possibly by the Kalakendra team)!
This reminds me of the kuTRAla kuRavanji that Dr. Padma (as the kuRatti), Prof. Sudharani (as the princess), and Smt Chitra (as the tOzhi) presented as a tribute to Smt. Rukmini Devi when the latter died - it was awesome.

Re: viRALimalai kuRavanji
Interstingly, all of the dancers on stage were from the same guru-siSya paramparA - that of the great vazhuvUr SrI Ramiah Pillai (aka vazhuvUrAr):
Dr. Padma Subramaniam (PS) - vazhuvUrAr's direct disciple
Smt. Priyadarshini Govind (PG) - Disciple of Sri Rajaratnam Pillai, who was vazhuvUrAr's disciple and (cultural) heir
Ms. Shobhana (S) - Disciple of Smt. Chitra Viswesvaran, who was vazhuvUrAr's disciple
Sri Vineet (V) and the students of Nrityodaya - all disciples of Dr. PS
Some clips from the performance:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0K16Kp_Mr4 - The conversation between the princess (Smt. PG) and her sakhI (Ms. S) - traditional costumes, but the difference in the status highlighted through the elaborate and silk costume for Smt. PG and a rather simpler one for Ms. S. Very traditional movements.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vaZ_qxZ1Cg - Opening conversation between singA (Sri. V) and singi/kuRavanji (Dr. PS) - very different costumes - now, the movements are different, but I am not sure how much of that symbolizes the difference between the gypsy's movements and those of the women from the royal household, versus the changes that symbolize Dr. PS' evolution away from bharatanATyam into bharatanRtyam.
