If Thyagaraja comes back alive today (with all his halo intact) what would he do for a living under the changed circumstances? Would he still do "unjca vrutti"? Could he make a living on that? Would people flock to him? Would he be depressed looking at the current situation?
On the other hand let us assume he starts developing anew as he did in his lifetime, i.e., we won't know he would become great but he has potential. Would people do likewise as they did in his lifetime?
Let us indulge in some speculations....
What if.....?

(1) Cry at our pathetic state.
(2) Sing a few hundred songs more telling the importance of SrI rAma nAmam and how it will be useful for present day.
(3) If people do not listen to him, he will ridicule them and be sad as well.
(4) He will not stop doing "unjca vrutti".
(5) I do not know about others. I will definitely go and prostrate before him.
(6) He will be depressed about the current situation and will say so in his own compositions.
I do not think tyAgarAja svAmi will change for mUrkhAs like aDiyEn. But instead he would do more upadEsams. Result songs with more philosophy content, lyrical beauty, finer music, etc etc will be born. In fact he would be able to answer a lot of the ifs and buts we have in cmusic today.
Reason which comes from my mind is that neither the vEdas not SrIrAman have changed in the period between tyAgarAja svAmi and us and and so will not tyAgarAja svAmi.
