I think Jugaad forms a trinity of famous Indian words: Yoga, Jooju=gambling, and Jugaad.

There's good(?) Jugaad when you risk things for yourself, and bad Jugaad when you risk and sacrifice others' interests.

Is it Jugaad when your recycled Ambassador car spare tyre gives up on Pollachi road? When you couldn't find a violin accompaniment and settled for harmonium for BMK at RSM in the 1960's? Is Android Tambura Jugaad? Is using plastic flowers in Navaratri mantapam Jugaad? Is lifting a Trinity tune for your lyrics Jugaad?

By the way, as I work for my PhD on Jugaad, I have formulated some concepts:
Proactive Jugaad:
A way to achieve the ends with minimum means.
Examples
-milkman increasing qty of milk with tap water.
-wrapping bondas in newspaper.
-giving missed calls on your mobile so that the other guy calls back at his cost.

Then there is Reactive Jugaad. That is solving a problem or resolving a crisis with whatever limited means you have. Example is the way Aamir Khan does that child birthing in 3 Idiots. I also read how a doctor operated with success and saved a patient with respiratory distress on a commercial flight using a metal coat hanger.

Then finally there is Creative Jugaad. Example- Ganesha circumambulating his parents competing for round-the-world speed race.
