The morning Lec-dem series at Music Academy, Chennai during their December Conference is a much awaited one that attracts a very intended audience including sizeable number of NRI rasikas. The events are held at the Kasturi Srinivasan hall-fondly called the mini hall in the Academy complex.
As a finale to the series, on the first of January, there is an Open Forum participated by the members of the experts committee of the academy, vidwans, scholars and rasikas. A review of the lec-dems will be made by the expert committee. This is followed by an exclusive forum where the rasikas' views/opinions/questions are listened to and deliberated based on the relevance.
However, it has been my experience over the past several years that many have requested the academy to limit the number of morning lec-dem sessions to just one (as against the present two) so that the speakers could do more justice to their topics and the interaction at the end would be more meaningful and unhurried. Moreover, many in the audience could avoid 'cutting' the second session to take a sprint to the concert ('Veterans slot') simultaneously happening in the main TTK auditorium. Young professionals are not commonly seen at the lecdems as they may have concert engagements elsewhere or could be listening to the veterans at the main Hall!
Though the Secretaries of the Academy have been whole-heartedly welcoming any good recommendation for implementation, the routine seems to continue for reasons best known to them. Any revision this year? Has the schedule been finalised?

Is the music academy schedule out? I want to know about the morning concerts. Where should I look for the schedule?

It will be on their website.
It is not out yet: they are still showing the schedule for last year.
I suspect that it has probably been fixed since January. Some people plan journeys, even international ones, around this schedule: why can't they publish it earlier. Surely they could do so by September?
