When TMK was asked about bhakti, he said it depends on what one understands by bhakti. His idea of bhakti is to keep true to the aesthetics of the song and the raga bhava. To be committed to the art one is in companion with. Perhaps Sudha's presentation accords with this, but her bhakti of the affiliation with a personal God was in her mind for sure. I cannot say whether it was effusive, but it was a good collaboration and much effort has gone behind it.

Bhava and Bhakthi: These two components go together. Bhava is the divine feeling one experiences when he merges his soul into music. The Krithi (Song) reaches the zenith when sung from the soul.
Bhakthi (devotion) is a feature which follows Bhava.
Carnatic songs are primarily based on devotion. Hence if one sings them with "Sampoorna Bhava and Bhakthi", he realises the supreme soul. Music is hence considered to be a path of salvation.
In spite of whatever Shri TMK says or omitted to say is that it is totally absent here...
vidvath may get one applause and the feeling of 'Ah!' but if if it is not coupled with Bakthi bhava...it falls short of appreciation..
It is my personal view and I am not binding others with it

When there is no one song liked by all, one raagam appealing to all, how can one vocalist appeal to everyone ? What one person likes may not appeal at all to another. It all depends on individual tastes and preferences.

agree...
Not sure if any one watched/listened to Nisha and Gayatri combo. The concert was good, but the body language of Gayatri doesn't sound like she is interested in doing such a program.

I felt both Nisha and Gayathri were not comfortable in this duo concert.
I also felt that Gayathri's mike was more powerful than Nisha's.
Nisha's posture throughout the concert was very good whereas Gayathri was slouching and not sitting properly.
Both of them are fine singers but Nisha is really good.
