So much sowkyam in Bhairavi and "Yaro ivar yaro"Anupallavi words brought us to the memory of how Ariyakudi used to sing (the way He had tuned Ramanatakam &Tirupavai ...) Chandraa bimba mukha was taken for Neraval.Why should the artists be concerned about the handful of people as audience ,Afterall ,the artist is performing live for the global listeners.( Thanks to ACC to have hosted live)True quality is like timber, I used to mention ,will emerge fully only when the rasikas are seasoned in their listening level to absorb her varied and divine treat.

The song by Sri puranadaradAsaru is a request to sarasvati asking her to give (koDu) him a divine/brilliant (divya) intellect (mati) without delay/immediately/fast (bEga) - so it is koDu bEga (and not pEga) divya matI sarasvatI. I love Smt. MLV's tuning of this in ArabhI - seems to suit the kRti perfectly - did not like the vasantA version too much. Did not know that it was tuned in sarasvati as well
In any case, I love the phrases that Sri dAsaru uses - e.g., akhila vidyAbhimAni ajana paTTada rANi, patita pAvanE nInE gati yendu nambidE etc...they just seem to flow so easily....

It was indeed so replete with bhava. Like CRama mentioned in one of his posts about her concert, there is a sense of divinity pervading her singing. Hope I can catch her in a few more this season. She is yet to be 'discovered' in a sense..... Even in this forum ....

Was there from pre Thani.Looks like she has allocated time enough after post Thani.
Felt like being in a meditation Hall.One has to experience by being present. Surati was a rare one I am listening for the first time.Her repertoire has been large thanks to her tutelage( She has accompanied her guru in MA for a presentation of GKB too) and the ever added list of Kshetra Kritis .yaru poi solluvar Enakkaga in Todi of Ghanam Krishnier.
Usha Rajagopalan brought out rare pidis during her short spell in Kapi.
Response of Madrimangalam & Purushothaman especially was in line with what the artiste would have expected for "kanagasabhaill".It will be a good value addition for Dr.VS to have the ideal vocal support from Sankari.( She was off the stage today).
Nice way to conclude the programme with"Asato ma satgamaya"
