Getting the message in ahead of everybody else - Part III

Post by harimau »

T M Krishna's concert at the Music Academy had a sell-out, standing room only crowd.

People were milling around in the parking lot, lobby and the canteen as the mini-hall was in use for the morning Academic Session.

Felled by intense early morning hunger, I didn't venture out to this concert as I had planned to do. Still trying unsuccessfully to quench the fire in my tummy. :(

I thought it would be, and stayed in bed.

I'll catch him in comfort next time he sings at Amara Barathi in Thiruvanmiyur.

Did I say comfort? Well, at least I'll be able to get in without queueing for hours.

(
The concert was a morning concert and was open to all free concert. How can we call it sell-out?

'Sold out' sign for a free concert is like the yarn in the emperor's clothes
Both don't exist--it's more like--no seat to sit on, no clothes to wear--
I sing free, and freely, free of form, a reform, re-forming a set mode...

They come, some for the free listen, others for my free will, to see how it will
Act out this day, a suspense factor, they like mystery movies and my music too
What next is their lure while others freeze in their seats about the next from me

I think straight, my ensemble line is straight, I forge straight ahead but wait--
My list isn't. Ask for pongal, get idli (sorry, no food analogy) varNam and get tAnam--want an a,,,a,,,a ,,,AlApanA? No, svarams my equal musician will play Freebie it all is, free will reigns, we are equal, so feel free to sit or quit!

Are you sure Varadaraja pahimam in shankarabharanam was a dikshithar krithi? I know a krithi in mohanam by thyagayyar.
