After seeing 'Endangered RTP' section in our Forum, I decided to attend this RTP series at NGS missing my initial planned Neyveli and Vedavalli lec dem @ MA.
This is the first time I am hearing this Vocalist. She has a beautiful voice who modulates her voice very well with mellinam and vallinam. It was a very good team work, Raghul and Sivakumar gave excellent support.
After a brisk Saveri varnam, She started with RTP. Mohanam was first taken for raga alapana followed by Raghul's.Then she switched over to Thodi alapana ,again followed by Raghul. Both the Ragas were well imaginative and had depth with full classicism. Raghul gave a very apt response. Now came the interesting part where Aishwarya started with Thodi again from Thara Sadjam and blended with Mohanam with an ease through graha bedam. The Tanam was also rendered in both the Ragas with good linkages between these ragas.
Pallavi started which had two arudis, one after 'manamohana kanna va' in first laghu, and second arudis after 'manivanna va ne aadi va' in second laghu and the dhrtam had 'Viranthodi va kuzhal oothi va'. Her neraval was class apart including all three speeds. After the thrikalam, she presented a thematic ragamalika kalpana swaras correlating famous songs - i) Maale Manivanna in kuntalavarali, ii) odoodi va in Dharmavathi iii) Kuzhaluoodi va in Kambhodi iv) Aazhi malai kanna va in varali and finally v) kamala kanna va in Madhyamavati. She came in reverse from Madhamavati, varali, kambhodi, dharmavati and kuntalavarali to thodi and mohanam. Korvai was rendered in Mohanam and Thodi. Sivakumar's thani was brilliant and quiet challenging.
After her RTP, N.V.Subramaniam sir came forward to speak few words. He said that it was a great challenging task for Aishwarya to have presented such an intellectual pallavi with great confidence at this young age. He also mentioned that those who are not attending these RTP series are missing classical beauties of RTP.
'Nan enna thavam' in Kamas was an apt concluding piece along with the thirupugazh.
Gayathri Girish RTP just started now !! This will be more interesting - Hamsalatha raga and Tala.
