As always, RK's concert had great balance in everything. That is the pleasure in listening to an established musician, the whole evening flows and before you know it, the concert is done. Maapala is a popular composition but not many venture into alapana or KS for Asaveri. But it was done with great aplomb-the KS showcasing all the nadais which was promptly picked up by Nagai Sriram who is no slouch in the math department. But the whole thing came across as a 'milk-shake, not a fruit salad' as was recently described in a lecdem
Ramapriya was again lovely-traditional enough but rare as well. But that OVK was brilliant. I hope to hear the lyrics sometime. When the majestic alapana unfolded, I was expecting Sri Mathrubootham, but I should have known that an OVK must come! Unfortunately I had to rush off just as RK started the Saveri. Hope someone wil complete the list.
