I don't know how many of you are aware of the complete lyrics of this shlOka. Only the first stanza is rendered as a mangaLam in many concerts.

We used to recite this at all poojas in our house as kids. It is beautiful and narrates the story of Ramayana.
This is taught VERY WELL in Chinmaya Balavihar. Our daughter recorded it on her own when she was 7-8.
I think the lines vibhiSiNa onwards are later additions amd don't fit the pattern.
The prayer is complete with the words, "satkRtAyAstu mangalaM", which concludes the prayer with obeisance to gurus (like zrIgurubhyO namaH)
