Wow! What a concert to mark my joining the forum! Where has this artist been so long? May he forever remain in the zone he was in today. Brilliant violin. Mridangam mic was a tad loud, but stopped noticing it as the show went on. For those who could not make it, please check the Arkay YouTube channel for the recording. It was a privilege to be there live.

Well said. Zone is the word. KBMK can out-abhishek and out-sanjay all the current stars. WIsh him all the very best.

Now that the program is over, please move this to the Review section.
No doubt that MBMK is a good musician, but comparing with other artists is not in good taste.

Good point. I was only implying that his approach is on their lines and he has a great potential.

In English language, such expressions without capitalising the name are used stylistically sometimes. My profuse apologies for any offence.

BTW I have heard KBMK only VERY recently. I also came to know about him when he sang along with Abhishek last year. My ignorance.

Is it perhaps Shakespeare who used it first out-Herods Herod, i.e.outdoes herod in rant (New Clarendon)? Hamlet asks the player to avoid it, not to overdo.

I feel Balamuralikrishna is refreshingly different from Abhishek and Sanjay. That augurs well.

We should listen more to our younger generation artists so that our music remains intact. Kunnakudi Balamurali ,Abhishek ,Ramakrishnan Murthy and a few others who performed in parampara will take the place of seniors at some point of time.

The Ragamalika Tanam was the piece de resistance of the concert. The choice of ragas and their execution was most fabulous and a good indication that his best days are ahead.

I thought I heard Sucharithra and Sarasangi, Can someone confirm?

I could see Akkarai's open admiration for KBMK in many placrs, especially when he forayed into these ragas like a Virat reverse flick six.
