Absolutely memorable concert. I try never to miss Shertallai concert. Powerful voice. Clarity in singing. Perfect sruti. No gimmicks. This was one such concert. Even better.
In the varnam he sang each of the chittaswaaras in two speeds tisra and chaturasra. Needs lots of practice. Submain was abhogi. Lyrics are rather simple that even a non-telugu can understand. Dhanyasi was elaborate and very well done. The selection of thukkadas was very thoughtful (I say so probably because I liked each one of them). Overall a highly satisfactory experience.

Mysore Nagaraj in my opinion is today's MSG. He can play anything. On this occasion, I felt that there was a slight mike adjustment problem. Sounded a bit shrill and kar kar type. Normally he is also extremely melodic. The vidwath and excellence however came out as usual, negotiating every nuance of the main artist.
Jayachandra Rao was the winner of the evening. Complementing the main artist in every line that he sang with his mridangam. He had a way of embellishing the singing with a suitable response , all through the way. Superb.

Dr.Sharma who is normally not the talking type, himself showered praise on the organisers, sound system, acoustics, hall ambience and audience. He spoke the few lines from his heart and each word was true. Organisers of the concert Vishesha Fine arts are by themselves artists. Vidushi Vani Sateesh and Sri.Sateesh are a cheerful couple who are deeply involved in the promotion of Carnatic music. They put in a lot of thought in organising any programme and it shows by the perfection in details. Our 75 minutes drive one way was definitely worth it.

Dear KSSR,

Absolutely. We had hired taxi from RR nagar due to lack of familiarity with roads and a very narrow road leading to concert venue.Music was touching the heart - hall mark of a great musician. It was no exaggeration that the team combined very well- Mysore Nagaraj whose accompaniment i love very much and KU Jayachandra Rao on mridangam.
Very versatile list of Krithis and some rarely heard ones made up for our taxi ride all the way.His son too combined well and enhanced the concert level.

Yes Sri.hnbhagavan. His son sang without inhibition all the sangathis that RS sang. Nice to see these youngsters coming up beautifully.
