Why does that name sound so familiar? Of course it does! It is, after all, the town of the inimitable Kalyanapuram Aravamudhachariar. Is it a katha kalakshepam?

Unlike the disappointment that one experiences when they get to the Aravind part, this young man's singing is impeccable, clean, and very reminiscent of TN Seshagopalan (the N, of course, standing for Nasal ), without the nasality and the feud with shruti, of course. He has an impeccable padantharam, like his guru.

Another word origin question--your 'pA'DA'ntaram reminded me of another old word pADAvati, an expression used then for any bad film...Did that come about because by old standards a film had to be filled with singing? paDA (unsinging) vati?
