Confined to a room for last 6 days severely affected with viral. My work travel back to Cochin got disturbed.I could step out only today. Pattabi sang next to my home. I like him a lot.I wanted to go but I was not sure whether can I sit through. My bro in law came all the way from other side of the Bangalore for this concert.So decided to give it a shot for his sake. And it was worth the pain taken.

Two and half hours was pure bliss.By the time he finished cintaamani a chit passed on. He couldn't read I guess (might be in Tamil or so).He asked Bhaktavatsalam. The request was for thodi tAnam i think. He announced that he will sing that Thodi main. Started with vibrant viriboni and the cintaamani was melodic. kalyani alapana was short and sweet. Once he finished Thodi alapana he said, he will sing tAnam and sing the krithi as done in Trivandrum. Both the percussionists joined the tAnam phase.One of the the best period in this concert this one.

TKV is one of favorite violinist right from my young days at Srirangam. He was effortless throughout, his alapanas, tanam and returns were gems.

Little high decibel but enjoyable tani and to note not many left when it started.

thank you arvenky.Pattabhi is a great musician . Also TKV Ramanujacharyulu is a lovely violinist but for he being stationed in AIR Trichy we all would hear him more . TKVR is respected for his quality and regularly featured in evening slot in academy which is great . ninnE namminAnu is also shyamasastri krithi . Usually there will be higher quantum of T krithis then a touch of one or two MD and 0 or 1 of SS krithis . This time for a change there has been 3 SS krithis and they are the maximum count . I am assuming historically Kanchi mutt and Shyama Sastri have more legacy. I recollect once when i went to tiruvayaru where Kanchi seer only constructed the shyama sastri memorial building .To have swaras at the end of the cintanmani krithi is very rare .
