It was an amazing concert. RKM voice was in great form. I am used to reading some reviewers rants that his voice showed strains. He was in top form that day. Viriboni- he sang in the melkalam. Ata tala varnam normally the pallavi we sing in two kalams. Never in mel kalam alone. That we do in Adi tala varnams. But RKM did this quite well. Then there was one extra ettugada swaram. He did a very good alapana of Harikambodi- which is rarely heard nowadays. When he took up Natakurinj, it was slightly early for RTP. I thought he will sing Budhamasrayami, being Wednesday. But never expected this amazing pallavi. This used to be rendered by Alathur Brothers. TNS made this pallavi a three raga pallavi. The way RKM presented sangathis of Natakurinji and Nata alternatively with much ease was commendable. There were a few repetitions though. It could have been cropped a little.

CRama,
Thanks for your update. Yes, I feel RKM has come to grips with his busy concert schedule and keeps his voice in good shape, like Federer preserves his form on the circuit.

Just wondering aloud, any recording?
