I was delighted to witness an outstanding dance recital yesterday here in Michigan.
Bangalore's Articulate group performed "Panchavaktram - Shiva, Lord of the five elements"
Highlight of the show was the mesmerizing performance by five visually impaired artists. All of them displayed an excellence in the artform with highly synchronized movements, delicate balance and heart-touching grace. Another highlight was the finale where the Ardhanareeshwara facet of Shiva was beautifully portrayed by Sri. Mysore Nagaraj.
The entire group of about 15 artistes were a treat to watch. The harmony between the male and female performers was pleasing.
The costumes were vibrant and colorful. The background music was well conceived but seemed a bit overexuberant at times.
Creator of the show and artistic director Sri. Mysore Nagaraj impressed with a very articulate introductory speech, and a poweful appeal for supporting the artistes who have accomplished mastery over the art while facing daunting challenges.
I understand the group will be performing next in Dallas, Texas and Gaithersburg, Maryland.
I will try to get more information about their schedule in the U.S. and publish it.
Do not miss recommendation for "Panchavaktram"
