The brothers no doubt play well and at times very melodious. But there will be occasions when you feel the volume is on higher side. But the public response to the duo is extremely good.

Even i had the same experience.

initially i thought the acoustics of the hall was not so good,
but i hear that they are too loud at times even by my friends.

and also they play super fast phrases, which is difficult to follow.

Acoustics in the hall were not good, it does echo a lot.
But yesterday Praveen and generally subdued Guruprassana, went into a banging contest.
I thought today Patri and Udupa will blast it, but it was nicer.
The brothers playing were very good, but too much adrenaline and the accompanists join in the banging for applause,
the concert looses serenity.

They play to the gallery these days. Whenever Nagaraj accompanies, it is just beauty dripping from his violin. Almost reminds me of LGJ-MSG days. Whenever he plays with his younger brother, it is sheer noise.

I understand the constraints of instrumentalists. Unfortunately, the problem is not theirs. It is with us rasikas for not having supported chaste instrumental music.

I agree with you . I like Nagaraj too. I have seen him accompanying TNS, Shankar, Sanajy etc many times.
He also tunes in Violin differently for accompanying, the effect is very nice.

if acoustics are bad then it will only noise when the brothers play together,
this one is better, you can see what will be the noise level with acoustics
