K.SATHYANARAYANAN- KEYBOARD- FB CONCERT - 3 MAY 2020.

Yesterday, 3 May 2020 at about 9.30 P.M, Keyboard maestro K.Sathyanarayanan presented a fb concert under the aegis of Artists United without any accompaniments. I have heard a few concerts of him over the last four- five years during the season. But yesterday, the concert impressed me a lot for it was cent percent Carnatic classical – no adulteration. The choice of kritis, playing, manodharmam, purity of notes, amazing gamakams which is difficult in keyboard- every thing fell into place admirably. It was sheer bliss for one hour. The list of songs is as under.

• Vallabha nayagasya- Begada (R,S)
• Bagayanayya- Chandrajothi –(R,T, S)
• Marivegathi- Anandabhairavi- (R)
• Bandureethi- Hamsanadam
• Visveswar- Sindubhairavi.

The raga alapanas came out excellently with the perfect raga bhavam which is very challenging in the case of Anandabhairavi. For Bagayanayya, the raga alapana was succinct and it was ornamented with ragamalika tanam consisting of Desh, Varali, Abheri. The kritis were rendered with utmost fidelity to the time tested sangatis. The link is given below.
