jhanjUTi - great answer, thank you! The bhAvam indeed sounds like Senjurutti/janjUti, but I keep hearing G2 and D1 (in addition to G3 and D2). Am I hearing this correctly, and if I am, does it mean there's a chance it's not Senjurutti/janjUti?

Ok. It turns out Magudi is a generic term for a number of different tunes so I could not find one to fit this.

So this song Villai Murithidum has been popularised by Smt DKP. It is a typical Kalyana paattu! Don't know more than that. Raga name=??

It sounds more like a kAvaDi chindu (which indicates that originally they sang praises of Murugan in this mode while carrying kAvaDi up the hill). chindu is a folksy ditty.
