The caraNasAhityam seems to be in praise of the Mysore Maharaja (cAmarEndra)...

If I get the words right, this is what Sri Cinnayya Pillai is saying about his benefactor:
The king (SrI cAmarEndra) is described as the bestower of wealth (SrIkara), of good character (suguNa), majestic in appearance (gambhIra), compassionate (karuNAkara), protector of those that seek refuge in him (shritajana mandAra), a colossus for the community of poets/composers (kavijana samAja bhOjarUpa), and who is as handsome as Cupid/manmatha (vidhita manasija)...

Are you just looking for any thillana in praise of Sri Rama? Poochi Srinivasa Iyengar's Kaanada/Rupakam thillana is in praise of Rama, as is one in Desh (don't remember whose, though).

alleviating evil (as opposed to srikara which comes before)
durita=evil, bad hara=to remove;
durita also means quickly (here, if you take it as the meaning, quickly remove what? So it is evil here).

shrIkari varada = shrI karivarada (kari = elephant, varada = one who gave a boon to) - refers to the gajEndra mOkSa episode...

Ravi, I shoud have said,
'as a srikara karuNakara' you are a 'durita hara' who were once a 'kari varada'...

kAlil - on (his) feet (kAlil)
calangai - anklets
uDan - with
kari mugilan - one with the complexion of black (kari) rain-bearing clouds (mugilan)
kALiyan - the snake kALiya
mIdinilE - on top of
kaLi naTanam - playful/joyful (kaLi) dance (naTanam)
tajham ta tanam ta tagum ta - solkaTTu
kOla - embellished/beautiful/attractive
ezhil - grace
tavazha - spreads in all directions
kuru nagaiyum - mischevious smile
tigazha - (making his face) lustrous
bAlakanin - this young boy's
ezhil - grace
pala pala - in many many
vaDivinil - forms
iNai aRiyum - those that know a simile or comparison
munivargaLum - group of sages
paNindu - bow down to (him)
magizhndu - and enjoy
uLLam kanindu - with their hearts (uLLam) overflowing
uruguvadai - melting
ninaiyAi - please think about this
unadu - your
mana iruL - darkness (iruL) of your mind/heart (mana)
AravE - to abolish
pADiDuvAi - please sing

In this carana, the composer describes the beauty of krishNa as he dances on kALIya and asks us/his mind to meditate upon this sight that even learned men (who can come up with comparisons in a jiffy and are not impressed by anyone/anything) bow down to.

The running meaning is: Please meditate (ninaiyAi) on the vision of krishNa (the dark hued kari mugilan) dancing (kaLi naTanam) on top of (mIdinil) kALIya's (kALiyan) head with his feet (kAlil) adorned by ghunghrUs (calangaiyuDan) [1] with his handsome (kOla ezhil tavazha), smiling (kurunagai), and lustrous face spreading divine grace (pala pala vaDivinil tigazha) in all directions. Think (ninaiyAi) of the learned sages (iNai ariyum minivargaLum - who can easily find something to equal anything in the world, but are speechless by this incomparable sight) who bow down (paNindu) to with melting (uruguvadai) hearts (uLLam) overflowing (kanindu) with joy (magizhndu), and sing (pADiDuvAi) of this wondrous phenomenon - and as you do that, you will realize that your soul/mind/heart (mana) is no longer in the grip (AravE) of the spiritual darkness (irul) that enveloped it.

[1] - nIDAmangaLam krishNamUrti bhAgavatar explains how humans tried to recreate the ghunghrUs on krishNA's feet - adOkSajasya (krishNa's) angri padmam - adOkSajAngripadmam - from which is derived the current delicacy - jAngrI.

isn't such a wonderful prayer???
the poet has put so much of knowledge and essence in just four lines. it was delighting to read the translation (thanks to Ravi) in english, i wonder how beautiful it must be sounding to those who understand tamil.
