It was a four day festival from Sep 28th till Oct 2nd.organised by INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR LAYA AWARENESS convened by Ghatam V Suresh, and the venue was Asthika Samajam, Alwarpet, Chennai.
Festival was inaugurated by noted danseuse and director of Kalakshetra, Smt Leela Samson who lauded the activities of International Society for Laya awareness especially our concentration on grooming the young hearts with deep cultural impressions!
Shri R Krishnaswami, President, Federation of City Sabhas, blessed the event suggesting musicians identify genuine talents and recommend to organisations to upkeep quality in music.
Shri S P Mani, felicitated.
Both the talent promotion concerts, By Shradda Mohan on the inaugural day and Smt Subbalakshmi on 30th were highly impressive. They gave matured presentations and proved worthy of their featuring in Chennai for an elite audience.

Mysore Chandankumar had the perfect blend of melody and rhythm and played a rich Bhairavi (bala golapa)

Neyveli Santhangopalan on the second day took the entire gathering to unexplored higher planes and introduced many galaxies in every piece particularly in Karaharapriya and Behag

Abhishek Raghuram was a presenting fire works on the third day. His voice, imagination, laya control were all a delight to the ears. He sang a brilliant pallavi in Mohana Kalyani.

G Ramnath was very soft and melodious on the sax even with the contact mic. His hindolam was very soothing.

As the Valedictory special show Sankruthi, the divine music club of young hearts (taught and conducted by Ghatam Suresh) performed devotionals charged with emotive sangathis with set backgrounds. They even sang detailed kalpana swara in Mohana raga as a group!
Dr. Thiruppur Krishnan, Editor Amudhasurabhi gave an enlightening address and distributed the prizes for the winners in the all chennai annual music competitions in which more than 200 children have participated.
