The kriti has been rendered by T.N.Seshagopalan on the 2 CD set titled A Meeting of Minds. The composer's name is given as "Unknown".
Check the details at carntica.net site.

Lakshman,
Is it possible for any rasikA who attends TNS's concert to ask him? If not, our fellow member Saroja Ramanujam would oblige, I suppose.

Is the above composition on Ayappa (harihara sutanE) or krishna, or, both ? References to Krishna and Sri Ram in the caranam.

Some minor corrections. The words in green do not make sense to me.

S-P - the song is indubitably on ayyapan (harihara sutan) - and that too with two consorts. What makes you think that there are references to Krishna and Rama?
Also, who is muccaDan (one with three braids)? I know of trijaTa (tiriSaDai), but muccaDan? Also, this is someone with 2 consorts, so, I wonder if this refers to muruga.

Must have have mistaken these -- "ucciyil ratna kirITam" and the "paccai marakata mAlai" evoked an image of Rama's color and coronation..."pANDiyan kali tIra bAlanAi"- thought of Krishna here.

I did wonder if the line should be 'pandaLan kali tIra...' and not 'pANDiyan kali tIra...'

rshankar, you are spot-on - the song being only on Ayyapan.

The well known Ayyapan is worshiped as Brahmacari/ascetic, as "shabari malaiyOnE".

He also seems to be worshiped a) as a child, and, b) as grihastha, with "iru mAdar"....

"..at Kulathupuzha, in Kerala, he is worshipped as a child; at Achenkovil in conjunction with his consorts, Pushkala and Poorna; and at Sabarimala as an ascetic, a celibate meditating in solitude for the benefit of all mankind....."

One lore is the child with the maNi mAlai found on the banks of the Pampa, raised by the then childless king of Pandalam, as Manikantan.

Wiki mentions other variations on the origin theme as well, one with the pAndiya Raja and the Pandalam connection :

..."A collection of legends called Ithihyamala first published in 1904 gives a slightly different version. In it the Raja of Madurai finds Ayyappan, as a young man well versed in archery, in a forest. The story then follows the same pattern as above except that the Raja recognises him as an Avatar or incarnation of Shastha. This story could be nearer the truth. The Pandyans subsequently migrated to Pandalam in Kerala. This story is plausible since it explains why members of Pandalam Royal Family even today do not stand directly in front of the sanctum sanctorum at Sabarimalai. This version puts Ayyappan as a Senapathi or Captain of the Pandyan army whose popularity and influence with the King was disliked by locals. It is obvious that even subsequent generations of Royals would be honored by Ayyappa and would apparently cause the idol to stand up-the ostensible reason for Royal family members not standing in front of the idol...."

Lji - that was very nice of the senior musician!!
I still have issues with mAdhavanE in the AP - because mAdhavan is krishNa or vishNu. mAtavan means someone who came about as the result of severe penance (As an example: mInAkshi is referred to as 'malayadhvajan mAtavamE' in Sri PS' kIravANi kriti, but many musicians whose mother tongue is tamizh sing it as 'malayadvajan mAdhavamE').
