I am collecting ramayanam based theme songs...

1. Bhavayami Raghuramam - I have MSS, DKP, SSI, Santhanam versions. Are there other versions available?
2. Ennakkun irupadam of Arunachala Kavi - I have KVN & DKJ, any other versions?
3. Yojaya padanaLinene me in raga kalyani of Swathi Thirunaal - I don't have any MP3. Can some one help me?
4. Any other keerthanas?
5. Has anyone heard Bhavayami Raghuramam in Saveri completely? (SSI tuned in current ragamalika form)

Are there any such theme songs based on mahabharata, devi bhagavatam etc?

kOlam kANa vArIR by Bangalore Shankar that Kji had shared with us before is just a fantastic rendition. In that recording, the accompanists contribute a lot as well. They play with gusto at the appropriate times which add to the festive imagery described by the song.

Talking of Ramayana theme song, how can we forget DRS's rAmAyaNa mangaLarAgamAlikA suLAdi. It was discussed here: http://www.rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=9096#p9096 starting from post #838

Nice collection:

kavi kunjara bhArati's compositions are very nice! Did not know about this one. A few points -

1. enakkun irupadam - the version I love is the one I first heard - the one by Smt. MSS - it followed tiruvEnkaTamuDaiyAn tiru paLLiazhaicci (the tamizh version of the venkaTESa suprabhAtam) in one of the commercial releases.
2. mannamE (anda) rAmanai pADa - discussed here: http://www.rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=3926
3. There is a tAlATTu song that MLV has sung in a commercial release that goes - 'tAyAr SorpaDikku' - that gives a synopsis of the rAmAyaNam (I think the song is in vasantA).
4. Finally I find the following SlOkam to provide a very brief sketch of the highlights/significant events in the rAmAyaNa:

pUrvam rAma tapOvanAt gamanam, hatvA mrigam kAncanam |
vaidEhI haraNam, jaTAyu maraNam, sugrIva sambhAshaNam ||
vAli nigrahanam, samudra taraNam, lankA purI dahanam |
pascAt kumbhakaraNa rAvaNa nihanam, Etat hi rAmAyaNam ||

There are two wedding songs which feature the salient events from the rAmAyaNa. The first is an ODam (thought it means a boat) with the starting words, "EzhiyuDayAl rAghavanE.. ElElO..." and the second an Unjal (swing) song with the starting words, "kandamalar mIduraiyum" which features all the events leading to the wedding of rAma and sItA.

Two more songs come to mind that feature the rAmAyaNa theme:

1. namO namO raghukula nAyaka - nATTa - annAmAcAryA
2. ShrI vaikuNThapatE - navarAgamALikA - pApAnASham Shivan

bAlakANDam events only:

1. ShrI rAma ShrI rAma (divya nAma sangkIrtana) - yadukulakhAMbhOji - tyAgarAja

Are these the ones you meant, kmrasika?

Both of these describe the events of bAlakANDam alone, unless there are more caraNams that are not popularly sung.

There is another song by the vAnamAmalai jIyar (the same person who composed jAnaki ramaNa) which is also a rAmAyaNa theme song.

Dikshitar has composed several songs on Sri Rama. One that relates several Ramayana incidents is Sri Ramachandro in Sri Ranjani.

There is a nice three CD recording of a Ramayana thematic concert by Sikkil Gurucharan released by Rajalakshmi Audio.

I found it - it appears in a CD by Smt. Sowmya titled AzhvAr pASurangaL - it is a rAgamAlikA tuned along the likes of 'bhAvayAmi raghurAmam' starting with the words 'SrI daSaratha nandanam bhajE'.

It is interesting that VVS has recorded kavi kunjaram's grandson's song too, learning it directly from him--Sri vENugOpAla dEvA nI vA in durbAr. It is possible that Koteeswaraiyyar taught him his grandfather's song too...

Yes, exactly. It would be inapproapriate to relate events thereafter since the scene is sItA kalyANam, on which I remember there is a tAlATTu song by ambujam kr.shNA words of which doesn't come to mind right now.

Oh, another rAmAyaNa theme song:
1. ShrI rAma jayamE jayam - nATa - UtukkADu
2. anganeDumadil puDaisUzh (starts in kalyANi and con't in a few pAShurams and contains the prÃ©cis of the story) - kulakshEkhara AzhvAr

Also, there is a rAma jaya stOtra that contains the events that take place in the story as well.
