I saw TV Vasan play mridangam only last week for his brother TVG. It is hard to believe that is mridangam playing is only 'occasional' it was so good!

Occasional--meaning 'occasionally on stage', I would say, knowing his prowess on the ghatam which we get to hear in performances.

T.V.Vasan Sir has got an excellent flair while playing on the mridangam and i have really enjoyed his patterns and he has some excellent combination of sollukattus which we get to hear rarely these days. He is such a natural player on the mridangam and i have heard him on many occasions during the Palani Gurupuja functions. He is such a versatile artiste and a great observer on stage which makes him still greater.
