Concert of Sreevalson Menon at Sivakami Petatchi Auditorium

Yesterdays concert was superb.

Sri.Srivalson Menon is Neyyattinkara Vasudevan sir's Sishyan.. He said he would be singing some of his Gurus favourite songs

Kanjira by sri.Sundarkumar

The concert on the whole was an excellent one .Sri.Menon sang with full involvement.The accompaniments also excelled in every aspect.Especially the thni by Sivaraman sir and Sunderkumar was supeb.the concert was over by 9.20.

Srivalsan is an amazing artiste, one of the most popular in Kerala. Am really looking fwd to the days when he gets his due.

Recently heard that Music Academy has promoted him to the primt afternoon slo, so it appears he is getting his due.

Experienced a little slack in the program early on - before the main. Especially after an ata tala varnam, IMHO the 2nd item has to be somewhat fast paced and short, otherwise it can create a belabored atmosphere.
