Where was niraval sung for nannu brOCuTaku?

Nice to see our forum member and talented young vocalist Vignesh playing tambura in the background!

hariharans,
tirrupayanam panchapakesa sAstri is the composer of sApashyAth kausalya
When you meant NS in kAPi nArayani , is that neraval sketch or neraval and swaram

Prashant, mistake. There was no neraval in Thodi.
Rajeshnat, its neraval and swaram in kApi nArayani.

rajesh, there were full neraval and svarams in kApi nArayaNi.

in the tODi kriti, neraval was indeed done. it was done at 'natajana haraNa nIku...' viz the second line of the svara sAhityam passage.

It was a nice concert. The kritis were all rendered in a leisurely fashion. The AlApanais of srIranjani and tODi were both very elaborate and done in an effortless fashion. The neraval and svarams sung for all kritis were measured and done in a manner fitting to the mood of the kriti. The accompanists did a great job in adding to the concert effect.ate and very impressive.

rbharath/hariharans,
By any chance was there no neraval in shree ranjani and/or kalyAni, four neravals in a row could be just unlikely?

There were svarams in shankarAbaraNam, neraval and svarams at 'hitavu mATA' for kApi nArAyaNi. For srIranjani, there was an AlApanai and neraval and svarams at 'padamulE gati tyAgarAjanuta'. For kalyANi there was neraval at the anupallavi. For tODi, there was AlApanai, neraval and svarams at the line i already mentioned a couple of posts above. There were quick svarams in jaunpuri as well.

and i dont see anything odd in that!

True. With so many concerts to sing, they can vary their patterns (as neravals, svarams and so on) in whichever way theychoose to. After all, the artiste has to please himself first in his performing which in turn translates to our enjoyment...
