I very rarely get a chance to attend 3 concerts in a week (hoping to make it 4 today) and I was luck that all the 3 were great concerts.
Saketharaman sings in open thraoted style facilitated by a powerful and pliable voice, clear diction and a fertile manodharman
All the songs were very well sung. Kalyani & kanada alapanas were exquisite and the nerval and swaras were brilliant. Even in post tani songs he sang with verve never once slackening.Mysore Srikanth played very well and his alapanas & swara replies contributed in raising the concert to a higher plane.
K V Prasad played with his trade mark nadam and supported the vocalist with fine playing. Trichy Murali and KVP presented a good tani.
A few grouses:
1. The sound system which was good in the earlier 2 concerts, was at a very high volume. Saketharaman's moving away from the mike and suddenly coming closer resulted at times on a assualt on the ears.
2. I would have liked the concert more if Kalyani and Kanada had interchanged their slots.(rajesh may disagree =) )
Another lovely concert during the week
