This concert being held at the shringeri temple had lot of focus with the shringeri sharadambAl .

It was an excellent concert throughout, just 5 reasons to backup
1. Classical it was through out from the time of hamsadhwani with a long swaras just gelled so well by the ace violinist gOpinAth with his impeccable shruthi sense. There was right and long proportion in both main and submain for alApanai,neraval and krithi both saraswati and todi stood out quite high in excellence
2. There was a more than adequate demonstration of rare krithis one by MD (never heard this mAlavashri of MD who else sings it ) and the other in durgA by a contemporary composer Jyothi which was tuned by suryaprakAsh but the lyrics was penned by shri/Smt jyothi.
3. TukkadAs were absolutely right .Long winding slokham vaidehi sahitam in HM-CM combo , preferably where suryaprakAsh dazzles , it was more a potato pOdimAs than Aloo MasalA though the rAgas (ham kalyAni + brind sarangA)were north indian imports. Particularly the end of rAma mantra japiso of dasAr in a 9.0 out of 10 shruthi sudham of suryaprakAsh voice was perfect .
4. The swaras of suryaprakAsh especially in manOdharma quotient is miles ahead than almost many musicians of today . Of particular interest was hindOlam for 8 mins , just so many new patterns neither resembling his school (mmi -tvs), very very original and just out of the world . Also the energy in singing tOdi mel Kalam with so much nAdaswara piDi where that krithi rendition was almost for 50 minutes was top class
5. kumbakOnam mr gOpinAth's play is spot on, no hindrance to the singer ,very proportionate to the violin pakkAvadya basics and simply brilliant returns and very high shruthi sense .The chemistry of both TVm VaidyanAthan - TVG in kanjirA was very right and they seem to enjoy a lot .

Overall 2 reasons that I did not like that much in this concert
1. The mridangist though having quite a lot of sarvalaghu strokes could add more sound to his play , it was at times not adequate .
2.Not nitpicking here when the temple is shringeri and when suryaprakAsh ends in ambiKam bhagavathim in shurutti + shree , perhaps it is ok to wind up in pavamAna, but why then in vazhiya senthamizh vande mAtaram , just perhaps the last mile exuberance is not needed, would be better if suryaprakAsh cuts that in the future.

10B. pavamAna + vAzhiya senthamizh vanthe mAtaram - sowrAshtram + madhyamAvati
Overall an excellent 2 and 1/2 hr concert ,had both manOdharmam and hyper energy coupled with high shruthi sense.

mangalAmbayai namaste is the krithi in mAlavashri, he started in anupallavi sangıta sAahitya sArajnasannute. When googled I see that Shri SRJ sings this krithi.
