Varnams in telugu

Place to go if you want to ask someone identify raga, tala, composer etc or ask for sāhitya (lyrics) or notations or translations.

Rasikas,

I would like to know if there is any telugu varnam dedicated to Nataraja(except manavi chekonarada)? hopefully fast paced as I live in a place where people are not used to seeing slow dance. I would be performing in the next 2 months.

I wish to list telugu varnams in this thread if possible.

Sri Balamuralikrishna has composed beautiful pieces in telugu like Brindavani thillana but varnams I am not sure.

Would be great if anyone can help out?

thanks!

I apologize, didn't see you were looking for the ones on Nataraja.

Here is Natakuranji from YouTube to get an idea. If you search for Natakuranji in Youtube, there are few other versions as well.

...it seems to be more of a vocal varna....do you know of any dance oriented version of that? like with jatis etc...

saawariya,

I am not aware of a padavarNam in telugu on naTarAja, but here is one on tyAgESa (I think) - http://rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php? ... anave.html - a composition of Sri Ponniah Pillai. I may be totally off here, but I heard that there is a telugu version of mOhamAna en mIdil...

Natakuranji is a pada varnam meant for dance however some artists may sing like typical adi tala varnam and what you heard is such one.
