History of Carnatic music

I am new to this forum. I am v interested in reading books related to the historical developemnt of Carnatic music. Other than Sambamurthy;s books are there any good books any one can suggest to me? Wuld be very grateful

Recently I got a book HiSTORY OF INDIAN MUSIC by Swami Prajnananada, I am yet to read it.
