What Raga is this? ( Veda Vedare Pandari )

Please listen to this Abhang "Veda Vedare Pandari" sung By Kovai S.Jayaraman Bhagavatar, available in the Youtube site. The link and the Lyrics are given under for ready reference. The rag appears to be a janya of 21st mela Keeravani or the Kaphi that of HM. But in the song a foreign note prominantly appears and adding beauty to the rag. This foreign note is Komal Nishad. Since both nishadams are used can it be a Hindusthani raga? if so, it appears to be rag Palash Kafi of kafi that.

Mr. VKR your rendition is really very good sans any "pakka vadhyams". Abhangs are real Bhakti geeth and hence, none of the abhangs are set to any particular Raga as in the case of songs composed by Thyagaraja/Dikshitar etd.,(presently there are about 5000 abhangs said to be known to this world written by great sanths like Thukkaram Maharaj). This particular song is from the Kaphi that and said to be rag Palash Kaphi.

palAs kAfi is the innovation by sarod maestro Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. It is a combination of ragas palAsi and kAfi.

I have not heard Patdeep before. After listening to abang rendered by VKR. I am reminded of an old film song by Sirkazhi sri.S. Govindarajan-"Samarasam ullavum idamey...Nam vazhvil kanaa....."Someone to clarify &confirm.Anyother song Please?

Gowri Manohari is a MELARAGAM(23RD) and pat feep is a derivative of the above with the following scale:
SA GA MA PA NI SA ;SA NI DA PA MA GA SA
