Wonderful...Thanks Lji.. Here is a mildly philosophical observation.. While it is depressing to notice that the 'new' songs I grew up with are now considered 'oldies', the 'oldies' of my time are still oldies..There is some comfort in that constancy.

VK,
Take comfort that your newies are now oldies. Today's songs? I don't think they will ever make the golden oldie grade. Most of them are subject to infant mortality...:)

S.P.B has the same 'infant mortality' view: http://www.hindu.com/mp/2006/08/19/stor ... 500100.htm

I can understand the 'infant mortality'. It is always due to the congenital anomalies :)
I can pardon the 'music' but the lyrics make even an old man like me blush :)

This one is not exactly an oldie, but it's one of Asha Bhosle's all-time classics:
(music by that wizard Bhupen Hazarika)
