The janya ragas of Kanakangi, Suddha Mukhari and Karnataka Suddha Saveri, are not mentioned.
I decided there is no need to go through the list to prove its insufficiency.
Are there really no janya ragas for the melakarthas of the first chakra?

This is my ready reference for such things:
Basic janya raga list

Expanded janya raga list

Lakshmanji was involved in putting this together. He can add more details.

The list at Karnatik.com has some 7000 rAgA scales listed. There is an equal number of new rAgA names still to be added. How I wish the day was 30 hrs long!!

Scan the book of ragas, use OCR software and then upload the data to the database.Lakshman wrote:The list at Karnatik.com has some 7000 rAgA scales listed. There is an equal number of new rAgA names still to be added. How I wish the day was 30 hrs log!!

It is not that simple. The rAgAs are scattered in several books. They also need to be alphabetically integrated with the existing list.
