A discussion on language is also part of nATya SAstra. The treatise provides ways in which words deform from Sanskrit to Prakrit.

Those with anthropological view ( from primitive to structured - directional hypothesis) take Sanskrit is refined from prAkrit like languages.

Not sure if any similar presentation on English exists.

This tamizh presentation is noteworthy for it's speciality due to the support from tolkAPPiyam - the tamizh grammar which is being said to have great deal of one-to-one correspondence for much of the discussion on language.
