Thank you for your responses. Just talking a little tangentially, has anybody read the books on HM released recently:

THe music Room - Namita Devidayal

The lost World of Hindustani Music- Kumar Prasad Mukherjee.

I was told that the second book is a wonderful one especially in terms of anecdotes.

Have read The Music Room. Strongly recommended. Have the other one, but yet to read it. Tangentially is right! You should perhaps move this to another thread.

I absolutely love his music, but have unfortunately only managed to listen to it in snatches. That is a lovely clip thank you-may I be greedy and ask for more?

I have some radio recordings.
If you have access to shops in bangalore , you will find atleast three albums of high quality 30 minute renderings.Cant feature them here though. Will get back with some radio / concert versions.
Should I put this on a downloadable clip ?
Thank you so much-would love the radio recordings.
Are the Bangalore recordings titled Hindustani Vocal-vols 1,2 and 3?
I am going to ask my mother to look for them in Bombay, if she can't find them, order them off the internet, they are available from a site called Kannada audio. I am unfortunately in London!

That was a very nice recap of the concert. But not entirely true. I was in the green room with the artistes before and after the program. Venkatesh ji enjoyed my guru's tabla playing immensely and told that he was lucky that he got my guru as an accompanist that day.

That was nicely put!!! i hope i did not sound belligrent:)

Yes i do agree that there was some sound system related issues. I have to suggest to our dear Madriji- who organizes this festival as a labor of love and gurubhakti , to get a better sound system which can overcome the inherent limitations of the hall.

Another interesting incident, i got to meet an elderly lady who happens to be one of the senior disiciples of Gayana Kokila Smt. Hirabai Barodekar. It was a pleasant surprise.
