After that discussion in the thread that Lji posted, I had an opportunity to finesse it some more after watching a couple of interprettations of this padam. Here is my corrected effort. The second caraNam is still not flowing properly.
pallavi
nETRandi nErattile nIrADum karai tanilE nerungi ummai jADai kATTi azhaittavaL yArayya

My lord (ayyA), yesterday (nETRu), at the time of (nErattilE) dusk (andi), on the bank (karaitanilE) of the stream where we play water sports/bathe in (nIrADum), who (yAr) was that woman who came so close (nerungi) and invited (azhittavaL) you (ummai) using sign language (jADai kATTi)?

anupallavi
nErtti mAmayilErum kandA nIr avaLum edirmuzhiyAi
nirkkayilE shokkaiyilE pakkam tanil irundEn svAmi (nETRandi...)

Oh elegant (nErtti) murugA (kandA) who rides (Erum) a mighty (mA) peacock (mayil), at the time when you (nIr) and she (avaLum) stood (nirkkayilE) face-to-face (edirmuzhiyAi) [1] enchanted (sokkaiyilE) with each other, I was right there (irundEn), nearby (pakkam tanil) my Lord (svAmI).

caraNam 1
munnALil enniDattil sondam pOla vandu
muttu muttAi sarasamADi mOhamadaittandu
mannavA un ninaivu koNDu, annam kaNDoru mAdamuNDu
vArumayyA en duraiyE, tIrumayyA en kavalai

Back (mun) in those days (nALil), you came (vandu) to me (en iDattil) as if (pola) you were close to me/related to me (sondam), and after dallying (sarasamADi) with pearl-like (muttu muttAi) sweet nothings, and induced (tandu) me to become infatuated (mOham adai) with you. Oh King (mannavA), tortured by thoughts (ninaivu koNDu) of you (un), it has been (uNDu) a (oru) month (mAdam) since I have even set my eyes on (kaNDu) on a morsel of food/rice (annam). So, please come (vArumayyA) to me my (en) master (duraiyE) and put an end (tIrumayyA) my worries (kavalai).

caraNam 2
piLLai madi uDaiya peNgaL pEdamaiyai kaNDu
pErulagil shUTkoLLuvar puruSar iduvuNDu
teLLU tamizh subbarAman shei padattukku shuruLum
tiruviDaiyO ini sahiyEn shEvalangkoDiyuDaiyOi

It (idu) is known/true (uNDu) that in this mighty world (pErulagil) there are men (purushar) who shoot themselves (SuTTu koLLuvar) after observing (kaNDu) the fickleness (pEdamaiyai) of women (peNgaL) with (uDaiya) child (piLLai)-like minds (madi). However, is this the shriveling (SuruLum) divine (tiru) response (viDaiyO) to this composition (padattukku) of the poet, subbarAman who writes in clear (teLLu) tamizh? Oh Lord who has (uDaiyOi) a flag (koDi) with a rooster (Seval) on it, I will not be able to bear (sahiyEn) this anymore (ini).

Thank you Rshankar. And sorry for the disturbance, but a reminder can't be bad nevertheless.

Yours,
Bhamdu

shuTTu kolluvar means 'will kill by shooting'.
But, here it is shUTkoLLuvar which means shUL + koLLuvar = will take a vow.

To get divine feedback, it is the practice to write 'yes' in a bit of paper, and 'no' in another bit, roll them and offer them at the feet the idol. After prayers, one roll will be picked and treated as the divine answer to the prayers. The poet may be referring to this practice when he says 'suruLum tiru viDaiyO?' (suruL = rolled paper).

for taking a vow the normal usage is 'shUL uraittal'.

If a vow is declared it is 'shUL uraittal'. Normaly to take an action against someone.
If a vow is taken it is 'shUL koLLudal'. Here it is for personal action/behaviour.
