Nisha sang with clear diction and delineation of ragas with good mano dharma.
ata thALa varNams always enhance the classical value of the concert, that too when such a list is there. She sang cheerful sarvalgu swarAs for kEdhAram and the concert geared up well to the next level.
lAvaNya rAmA - pUrNa shadjam, a krithi which inspired UKS sir and made him name his foundation as "laya lAvaNyA"

My attempt at guessing the meaning
bruhi rasanE"¦. -oh tongue, say
gowLAnga sathIthi - that (she is)the fair complexioned consort-
sadhA shiva shankarIthi"¦-that (she is) 'shankari of sadAshiva'
there is also the judicious use of words-(shankarI+ithi-) shanka rIthi followed by 'gowlA' to give the name of the raga-'rIthigowLa'.
the word 'ithi' is used beautifully.

Thank you for the translation, Punarvasu. Sri Shriramkumar is a true 'renaissance man' of Carnatic music. How beautifully he has conceptualized this pallavi!Punarvasu wrote:My attempt at guessing the meaning

I too attended Nisha's concert yesterday. She dispalyed excellent attitude and one can see an assertiveness in her performance. She has really progressed in these years.
She followed pure sampradhaya by singing RTP in the same raga as that of Varnam.I have seen the late legend TMT follow it meticulously. Her selection of Poornashadjam would have been avoided since it is close to Reetogowlai and when there are already 2 nos.in the kutcheri in RG.
I also feel violin support by Poorna Vaidyanathan could have been better.Erode Nagaraj was a great support to her though.
But on the whole Nisha's concert was good.
