Dear Rasikas, I was happy to know to that Vipanchee , the organization whose Founder is Dr. Balamuralikrishna, and Director is Dr Saraswathi is awarding the title "Nada Kala Vipanchee" to our Veena couple Sri Jeyaraaj & Smt Jaysri.
Many of us rasikas know the couple, having attended the chamber concerts arranged by Coolkarni sir, in their home. and later attended their concerts in Nada Inbam etc. To all of us it is especially wonderful to hear this news.
The award function is on 31st December at 7PM
Their concert for Vipanchee is on December 16th at 6 PM.
Venue: RK Swamy Auditorium, Mylapore.
I hope many rasikas will attend the events .

The concert was an excellent piece of work by the duo on 16th At R.K.Swamy Auditorium started around 5.10 and finished by 6.15.
With a few items they concentrated more on Raga Bhava than kriti rendition.
They started off with Sri Saraswathi Namosthuthe in Arabhi a fitting thank giving to goddess saraswathi for bestowing the Award on the duo with some beautiful swara passages.
Next came an elaborate alapana of Kalyani started by Jayaraj and then Jaishree rendered the raga with ease and aplomb. Both of them were in peak form and the Taanam that followed the raga exposition drew unanimous praise from the audience.
The kriti Nidhi Chaala Sukhama in Misra Chaapu was neatly embellished with traditional sangathis .. and not so elaborate Swara Prasthara.
They rounded off the concert with Bageshri Thillana composed by their guru Chengleput Ranganathan and Vande Mataram to pay the respectful homage to the martyrs of Mumbai Tragedy.
The Occasion was graced by None other than Sangita Kalanidhi Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna ji and the duo expressed their immense happiness on his presence.
After the concert i had to leave for another one so i am not able to write much about the Inaugural Function.
I met Rajani madam and may be she can throw some light on this.
