Sathya performed today from 1230 - 1345 hrs with Karaikal Venkatasuramanian on Violin and Thillaisthanam R. Suriyanarayanan on Mrudhangam. This concert was preceded with Ms Sangeetha Swaminathan concerts which was really excellent. Special mention for the ragamalika RTP which she sang very well and so did the team.

Sathya performed following krithis and mentioned the first song's composer as Sri GNB. H/ever i found in the Kutcheri - Guide of Sri B.M. Sundaram and S. Kannan to be that of Veenai Kuppaiyar. We should be more careful to this respect in the future concerts.

01. Vinayaka - Hamsadwani - Adi - E.V. Raamakrishna Bhaagavatar [mentioned earlier as veenai Kuppaiyar]
02. Diwakarathanujam - Yadhukula Kamboji - Ekam - Dikshidhar
03. Manasayatulo - Malayamarutham - Rupakam - Thyagarajar
04. Thulasibilva - Kedharagowla - Adi - Thyagarajar
05. Parathpara - Vachaspathi - Adi - Papanasam Sivan
06. Brooghi Mukundehi - Sadhasiva Brahmendrar
07. Om NamoNarayana - Karnaranjani - Kandachapu - Ambujam Krishna
08. Saibhajan - Vasanthi - Ekam (Krishna Madhava)

There was goodnumber of audience present in the hall throughout the concert and i shall upload the concert later & look forward to the opinion of all our valued members on same.

Being a disciple of Ms. Kanyakumari, of the GNB musical lineage, he should avoid such mistakes.

dear shyam223,

yes you are absolutely correct and he is just very much on the learning curve and your point is well taken.

I had posted it late night and just saw the reference book i had before checking with my son who was away with his uncle. (of course no excesses made) Now i understand the composer is E.V. Raamakrishna Bhaagavatar and the same is mentioned in the website http://www.karnatik.com/c1136.shtml

making the necessary change in the main post as well.

Yes, he IS just on the learning curve! No need to get hot and bothered over this. What was the main item?

I managed to attend for the middle part of the concert and was impressed with Sathya's talent. He played the krithis with great ease. His brief sketch in Kedaragowlai was very nice and his swaram in Malayamarutam and Vachaspati was creative and well structured. He seems very modest on stage and I am sure he has a bright future ahead of him.
